As surfers we all know that planning and making sure we have everything is not something we do a lot. Having said that when you come to go on a surfing holiday it is worth your while spending some time to decide what to take. It can be tedious to have to think about everything you will need in advance but it will make your travels all that more enjoyable.
You may not even be going on a complete holiday just a trip down to somewhere close for the weekend. Either way you will find there are some necessary things to pack. Don’t have to remind you about your surfboard do I. Footwear and additional urban clothing or your desired choice of beachwear will also be a good idea. For girls Roxy produce some nice items tailored to surfers whilst Billabong has a nice range of surf clothing for men.
Lots of surfers are a plan of camping and obviously means that you need to pack a few additional items to make the most of your holiday experience. Many people prefer this option because it allow them to be right next to the beach they travelled all that way to visit. Key things to bring naturally include a sleeping bag and tent for shelter. Most of the places near sea level don’t get too cold a night so you should get by with a relatively thin sleeping bag. Bringing a sleeping pad along will help you to get a better nights sleep and therefore enjoy your holiday experience more. Additionally some people who camp down at the beach choose to go for a hammock which can easily be put up between a couple of palm trees.
Food such as bread, nuts and tuna are worth while bring along for the journey as these foods contain a lot of nutrition and will stop you from feeling drowsy or having low energy levels. If it’s cold then a wetsuit will keep you warm when in the water and sun cream is always a good idea regardless on the conditions.
